3D pattern cats
Patterning is super-versatile, fun and kids love it. But it also has other side benefits.
Pattern-based crafts are popular because they’re fun!
They also help kids to destress, practice mindfulness, improve concentration and develop fine motor skills. You don’t need a high skill level, just a bit of patience, and the results look great.
Our latest project, 3D Pattern Cat Art, extends the fun by making the artwork 3-dimensional.
This craft is recommended for ages 8 and up. If you’re working with younger kids, there are some variation suggestions to make cat-themed collage art in the article on our website. The template is available from our printables store.

Little kids can pattern too!
All kids naturally incorporate patterns into play. Blocks, rhymes and repetitive games are some examples. Here are some ways you can encourage patterning with creative projects for preschoolers and up:

Patterning develops Math skills
Math is based on pattern and logic. Our Multiplication Mandala set is a colouring exercise that uses pattern and colouring to help memorise times tables.
We also have a Times Table Fun bundle in our Printables Store that includes more playful and creative ways to memorise multiplication.
