A Spring craft for everyone
Got an egg carton? Turn it into a decorative butterfly garden that lights up.
Use our template to make the paper flowers, leaves and butterflies. Add tissue paper-wrapped tealights and you have the prettiest DIY nightlight ever. There’s a colour-your-own version included if kids want to get more creative with it.
See the video and tutorial on our website here. The template is available in our printables store.
For older kids
Yarn butterflies are great fine motor practice using a technique inspired by God’s Eye weaving. Add beaded pipe cleaner bodies to create your finished butterfly.
See the full tutorial on the blog.
For little kids
Butterfly squish art painting is super easy and fun. It’s a great way to explore pattern and symmetry and our version is based on real butterflies.
There’s a free template to download and a video tutorial on our website.
An even easier project for preschoolers is sponge butterfly stamping.
Realistic insects
If you want to get reaaally realistic with your butterfly crafting, we have a printable 3D Monarch butterfly with optional anatomy labels in our printables store.
In the same series: 3D paper dragonfly and 3D paper bee with anatomy labels.
Have a great week and happy crafting!
