Without chickens, there’d be no eggs. This makes them very important during chocolate egg season!
Here are some of our favourite chick crafts and activities.
Create fluffy chick gift bags and cards using pom pom trimmings. The egg shape used is from our free set of egg templates.
These printable chick baskets are a fun craft to go with mini egg hunts. They’d also make a cute last-minute Easter gift if you fill them with eggs.
If you have large eggs in your hunt, make a recycled cereal box basket instead. Kids can decorate it however they like (this activity always goes down well), but to go with this week’s chick theme, we’ve made one that looks like a chick.
From our printables store, here’s a Geometric Chicken papercraft. Lift mama hen’s wing to see three baby chicks tucked underneath.
See how to make these cute and fluffy pom pom chicks here. The template is free to download.
Five-minute rock chick craft
If you only have five minutes you can’t go wrong with this easy-peasy rock chick craft!
How to make it:
Go outside and find a round rock—it will probably need a wash and an additional five minutes to dry.
If you have chickens at home, gather some of their fallen feathers. If not, use store-bought feathers or hand-drawn paper feathers. Glue them on for wings and a tail.
Make a beak from yellow paper and stick it on.
Glue on eyes. Instead of plastic googly eyes as pictured, try using our printable paper eyes to keep your rock chick eco-friendly
Happy Easter to all our readers and their families.
