There are soooo many possibilities when it comes to egg-themed crafting.
That’s why I created a set of mixed-size egg templates—so kids (and their teachers, parents and carers) can get creative with them any way they like. It’s free to download.
Here are some ideas to get you started …
Process Art Pattern Eggs
Make eggy art using any process art technique you like. To create this batch, I experimented with craft stick scrape painting.
See the tutorial on our website for the straight scrape, the circular scrape and the wiggle scrape.
And here’s how to turn your finished art into unique patterned eggs.
This activity can be adapted to suit different age groups and the finished eggs make gorgeous wall art. You could also trace and cut smaller egg shapes onto your process art scraps and use them as Easter gift tags or cards.
Nanna’s gonna love it!
Egg Character Stick Puppets
These are super easy! Print the egg shapes to coloured card stock, then decorate to create Easter characters.
I got a bit carried away, as usual. My set includes bunnies, chicks and an entire family of Eggberts with names and personalities.
Make puppets just like mine, or set this up as an open-ended activity so kids can design their own characters.
Puppets are always fun because they become a DIY toy that can be incorporated into roleplay and games afterwards.
Textured Egg Cards
Use coloured tissue paper to decorate paper eggs. Keep it simple with glue-on squares and screwballs for preschoolers and younger kids. Older kids can make rosettes, twists and bows and create more complex patterns.
Turn this activity into egg-shaped wall art, or use our purpose-made card template to create Easter cards.
